The body of a missing hillwalker has been found near Loch Lomond.

Herpreet Bilkhu was last seen at around 7.20pm on Monday and he was reported missing on Friday.

Concern had been growing for the 43-year-old, from Leith, who had gone missing without vital medication.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “With the assistance of Killin Mountain Rescue Team [we] traced and recovered the body of a man from Ben More near Crianlarich, on Saturday.

“The man has been identified as Herpreet Bilkhu who had earlier been reported missing in the Edinburgh area and was believed to have been hill-walking in the Crianlarich and Killin area.

“Herpreet's family would like to thank all those who assisted in the search for him after he was reported missing.”
