Teenager in second court hearing over nurse's death in crash
Dylan Jenkin, 18, was arrested after collision that claimed the life of Jill Pirrie.
A teenager charged with causing the death of a nurse on an Edinburgh road has made a second court appearance.
Dylan Jenkin, 18, was arrested following the collision on Old Dalkeith Road near its junction with Kingston Avenue on May 12, which claimed the life of mother-of-one Jill Pirrie.
Jenkin also faces a charge of failing to stop when signalled to do so by police and other road traffic offences.
He made a second appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday for a brief hearing.
The case was fully committed and Jenkin was remanded in custody.
Ms Pirrie, 33, was struck by a car at around 9pm on May 12 as she made her way home to nearby Ravenscraig Avenue after a shift at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
