A lorry burst into flames outside a busy Fife retail park, prompting traffic disruption.

The incident took place on the eastbound carriageway of the B981 near Fife Central Retail Park in Kirkcaldy, at around 1pm on Wednesday.

The driver, who was the only occupant, managed to escape the cab without injury.

Two fire engines from Kirkcaldy were called to extinguish the fire, while police officers diverted traffic.

The lorry is blocking one eastbound lane and motorists have been told to take extra care.
