CCTV images have been issued of a woman who police wish to question after a woman and her children were subjected to xenophobic comments.

The 36-year-old mother was travelling with her children on board the number 10 Lothian Bus on Great Junction Street in Leith, Edinburgh, on May 9 when another passenger made abusive comments.

Detectives have now issued CCTV images from the bus, which show a woman they want to question about the incident.

The woman is white, in her early 40s, with a slim build. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a white top and dark trousers.

Constable Thomas Winsor said: "The woman pictured in the CCTV footage is of interest to our on going inquiries and I would ask anyone who recognises her to contact police immediately.

"In addition, anyone with any further information relevant to this investigation should also come forward."
