A man was thrown against a restaurant window and another was injured in a disturbance in Eyemouth.

The incident happened on Chapel Street in the Borders town on Saturday at around 9.30pm.

A 56-year-old man was assaulted before a 23-year-old man was thrown against the window of a Chinese takeaway.

The younger man suffered "significant injuries" in the attack, while the window was badly damaged.

Police Constable Gordon Anderson, of Eyemouth Police Station, said: "The group would've caused a lot of noise before, during and after the incident, so it's likely this would've attracted attention from people nearby.

"We're unsure how many men were involved, so if anyone witnessed this or has any information, please contact us."

Those with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
