The death of a man whose body was found on a disused railway line in Edinburgh is not being treated as suspicious.

A major investigation was launched on Friday after the discovery was made near the former Abbeyhill train station at Abbey Lane on Friday.

It was thought the body had been on the path, which runs underneath London Road, for some time.

British Transport Police confirmed that the body had been identified as a 40-year-old man from Edinburgh.

A spokeswoman said: "His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious."
