A man has been arrested after five cars were torched outside a prison in West Lothian.

Police launched a major investigation after the vehicles were damaged in the HMP Addiewell car park on the evening of August 12.

On Wednesday, detectives from Livingston CID arrested a 22-year-old man.

He has been charged with fire-raising and drug supply and is expected to appear in court on Thursday.

Police continue to hunt for three other men in connection with the incident.

Detective inspector Steven Bertram said: "As a result of our investigation a 22-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with this incident.

"I wish to thank everyone who has assisted us with our investigation but also want to stress that our enquiries into this matter are very much ongoing.

"We're very keen to trace three other males who were involved in this attack and I'd urge anyone with information that can help identify them to come forward immediately."
