Man charged over assault and robbery at East Lothian shop

A man has been charged in connection with an assault and robbery at an East Lothian newsagent.
A shop assistant was assaulted and a four-figure sum of cash was stolen at the Mini Market in New Row, Tranent, on August 18.
The incident prompted a major witness appeal and police released CCTV images in connection with the investigation.
Police Scotland confirmed a 38-year-old man had been arrested and charged.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
