An anti-sexual harassment campaign has been launched at the University of Edinburgh.

"No one asks for it" will see the university, its student association Eusa and sports union EUSU challenge sexual harassment and violence on campus.

The drive was launched in response to research which suggested that more than two-thirds of women are sexually harassed during their time as student.

The awareness campaign will also see advice and training given to students and staff.

University principal Professor Sir Timothy O'Shea said: "All students and staff at Edinburgh should feel safe, supported and respected: sexual harassment, in whatever form, has no place in our university or on our campuses.

"I hope you will support the campaign too, by signing the pledge, talking about it and by speaking up if you witness sexual harassment. #NoOneAsksForIt."

EUSU president Robin Drummond said: "We will strive to see as many of our students as possible take advantage of the training available and help remove all forms of sexual harassment from our campuses."
