Police will carry out a reconstruction of a crash which left a pensioner with serious head injuries.

The 71-year-old man was left in a serious condition after he was struck by a silver Proton Satria on Dalry Road in Edinburgh last month.

He was treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after the incident at around 10am on Saturday, August 20.

Officers will close Dalry Road for short intervals on Monday while they continue their investigation.

The stretch between Orwell Terrace and Cathcart Place will be closed between 10am and 11am, with traffic being held for up to ten minutes a time.

Police are advising drivers to find alternative routes and have thanked them in advance for their patience.

Anyone who has information about the collision is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
