Heart of Midlothian legend John Robertson has been injured in a fall at the club's stadium.

The 52-year-old was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after the incident at Tynecastle on Thursday.

On Friday, the club tweeted that "the legend is on the mend".

The club said in a statement on Thursday night: "The club can confirm that, earlier today at Tynecastle, John Robertson was injured as a result of a fall.

"He was taken by ambulance to the royal infirmary where he remains for treatment.

"We can also confirm that his condition is not life-threatening and we will release more information once the full extent of his injuries are known."

Robertson is Hearts' record league goalscorer and managed the club in the 2004-05 season. He is currently a business development executive at Tynecastle.
