Torness nuclear reactor shut down due to seaweed issue
Reactor one was automatically shut down at the station just before 9am on Tuesday.
One of the reactors at Torness nuclear power station has closed down because of seaweed.
Reactor one was automatically shut down just before 9am on Tuesday.
It was tripped because of seaweed at the seawater intake pipe.
EDF energy, which runs the station in East Lothian, said there is no danger.
It could take a week before the reactor is back online.
