'Attempted murder victim' dies in hospital after disturbance

A man has died in hospital after suffering injuries in an alleged attempted murder in Edinburgh.
The 24-year-old died on Tuesday night after the incident in the city’s Magdalene Drive on February 10.
He had been receiving treatment in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary since he suffered the injuries in the disturbance.
Harvey Frost appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on petition charged with assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder of the 24-year-old.
The 46-year-old, from Edinburgh, was also charged with assaulting another person in the incident. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody following his court appearance on February 11. His case was continued for further examination.
Lothian and Borders Police confirmed on Wednesday that the man who suffered injuries in the incident had died in hospital.
A spokesman for the force said that a further report on the incident would now be submitted to the procurator fiscal as a result of the death.
