The Cold Feet cast have been seen together for the first time ahead of the show's revival, more than a decade after the last series.

James Nesbitt, Robert Bathurst, Hermione Norris, John Thomson and Fay Ripley, who are all set to star, are seen enjoying a joke in the photo released by ITV.

The show was originally made-up of 33 episodes over five series, airing between 1997 and 2003, and is now returning for an eight-part series.

The new series will see Adam (Nesbitt) return to Manchester having been working abroad.

Helen Baxendale will be missing from the show after she was killed off in the last season, although Nesbitt has hinted there will be a special nod to her in the premiere episode.

This will be the comedy-drama's sixth season, and creator Mike Bullen will still be at the helm.

He said: "This feels like the right time to revisit these characters, as they tip-toe through the minefield of middle age!"

Many fans of the show will be keen to see how Adam is coping without his soulmate Rachel (Baxendale), whether David (Bathurst) and Karen (Norris) are still split up and, most important, if a son of Adam's could really find football boring.

The show returns to screens on ITV this autumn.
