Hit West End musical Jersey Boys is to close after nine years in London.

The curtain will come down on the show for the final time at the Piccadilly Theatre in March next year, before embarking on a UK tour.

The musical, which documents the true story of the rise to fame of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, first opened in the Prince Edward Theatre in March 2008, before transferring to the Piccadilly two years ago.

Following a successful run across the UK and Ireland last year, a new national tour will begin in December 2017 - opening at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham.
