Scottish singer KT Tunstall was taken to a hospital after choking on a chicken bone.

The musician from St Andrews in Fife spent several hours in accident and emergency at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

In a post on her Instagram page, the 41-year-old said she underwent an X-ray and a laryngoscopy after swallowing the bone while eating chicken wings.

She wrote: "Woah. A few hours at A&E at Royal United Hospital in Bath tonight after swallowing a Goddam chicken bone.

"I am never eating wings ever again. One X-ray and a beautifully painless laryngoscopy later, and it looks like [it] just scratched me on the way down and nothing got stuck.

"The NHS nurses were amazing. Thank you Hazel and your lovely colleagues. You are bona fide angels, and deserve way more than you receive, as does the NHS across the board."

The Suddenly I See singer also confirmed her concert in Colston Hall in Bristol on Monday night would go ahead.

She is currently on a UK tour in support of her new album, Kin.
