Justin Bieber is in Glasgow for his three night pop extravaganza at Glasgow's SSE Hydro.

The megastar plays three shows during his stay in Scotland, after his fanatical fans, the 'Beliebers' snapped up all the tickets to his first date.

Excitement was building even the day before his first show on Thursday, as dedicated fans camped out overnight next to the venue to ensure they were the first in when doors opened.

"We've been here since 8am this morning.", said 17-year-old Kimberley Cameron from Bridge of Weir, who was queuing with her friend Katie.

"It was absolutely freezing - we got moved into the tunnel because it started to rain.

"We've always loved him really. We're kind of sad that he shaved his floppy blonde hair off."

She planned to get right to the front row to get a firsthand experience of her idol.

"Justin's just so good looking, and his songs are just amazing," she said

"We're sprinting to the front of the stage as soon as we get in - we really want to touch his hand or something.

"I wouldn't be able to speak if I saw him. I started crying when I saw a tweet about him landing in Glasgow airport."

The 22-year-old's tour has not been without controversy, after he stormed off stage in Manchester earlier this week after fans screaming became too much for him.

Katie Robinson, also 17, said: "Justin's so nice to his fans. He's so genuine, just like a real person.

"You can understand where he's coming from when he talks about the no photos thing - it just shows he's normal.

"Scotland's a bit wild - I'll be heartbroken if he walks off the stage, but at the same time I'd understand why he'd do it you know?"

A huge sign was erected outside the Hydro to commemorate the Canadian's arrival in Scotland.

Remember the last time Justin Bieber played in Scotland? Well it was six years ago at a school in Bellshill.

There was even time for some obligatory dodgy merchandise for anyone wanting a memento of Bieber's first proper gig here.

As the support acts warmed up the excitable crowd, pictures from the inside of the Hydro showing the superstar's stage set emerged.

Fans crammed inside the 13,000 capacity venue, many with posters expressing their devotion.

At 8.35pm, Justin hit the stage as the tension builds up in the Hydro.

The crown goes wild as the pop star begins his set in a box for some reason.

The screaming crowd go wild for hit, Where are U Now?

Taking aim at his critics, the 22-year-old told the crowd: "My whole life I was told 'Justin you're not good enough'. You know what I said to that? I'll Show You!". He does this via his acoustic set.

He has really dressed up for the occasion, both promoting the merchandise and sporting some classic tartan trousers.

Here is the singer performing acoustically on a conveniently placed sofa.

Taking questions from the crowd, Justin Bieber controversially says "I love Scotland." Seems to have gone over well with the fans.

Wrapping up the show with older hit Baby and his recent smash Sorry, Bieber exits the stage (as scheduled rather than storming off) .The fans can leave happy, but the megastar is back tomorrow for his second night in Glasgow.
