A body has been found on the Isle of Rum close to where a kayaker went missing earlier this year.

The discovery was made on the island's shoreline on Friday afternoon by a member of the public who informed police and the coastguard.

A police spokeswoman said the family of Jason Chung Wai-Ho has been informed.

The 39-year-old, from Glasgow, was last seen in his inflatable kayak off Traigh beach on Arisaig on January 13.

Emergency agencies including the RNLI, Search and Rescue Dog Association Scotland and Lochaber and Skye Mountain Rescue were all involved in the search for Mr Chung.

His disappearance was said to be "completely out of character".
