A fishing boat which sank off the west coast of Scotland at the cost of two lives has been raised.

The Louisa went down at anchor off Mingulay on April 9 and skipper Paul Alliston remains missing.

Martin Johnstone and Christopher Morrison died in the sinking south of Barra and their bodies were recovered shortly after.

The men are understood to have been asleep when the Stornoway-registered Louisa began taking on water at around 4am.

Fellow crewman Lachlan Armstrong swam for shore when the crew's life raft failed to inflate and was rescued from Mingulay by Stornoway Coastguard.

The boat was raised by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch and is expected to be taken to Glasgow.

Investigators will be looking to establish why the boat sank and why the lift raft failed to deploy.
