A gruesome find on the banks of Loch Ness is unlikely to be connected to Nessie, it is believed.

The discovery, which appeared to be the skeleton and intestines of an antediluvian sea creature, was made by a dog walker earlier this week.

But any ideas the "remains" could belong to the famous monster - or a relative - seem unlikely.

When images were posted on social media, commentators were resoundingly undeceived, with some saying the "intestines" were nothing more than "a waste of good white pudding".

But the question remained - who was responsible for leaving the grisly remnants on the loch's banks?

The answer came on Thursday when it emerged a TV production company is thought to be filming in the area for an as yet undisclosed programme.

It seems monster hunters will again have to wait for any concrete evidence that a creature lurks in the depths of Loch Ness.
