A man has been reported to prosecutors after the theft of pedigree sheep in the Highlands.

Twelve Suffolk sheep were stolen from a farm in the Bilbster area, near Wick in Caithness, on July 6.

Police worked alongside the Scottish SPCA to find the animals in the local area.

Officers confirmed on Friday that a 22 year-old man had been reported to the procurator fiscal.

They thanked members of the public for sharing the appeal.
