A pensioner who died after he was struck by two cars in Aberdeenshire has been named by police.

Ernest Tough was crossing the A96 Inverurie to Huntly road at Colpy when he was knocked down on Wednesday.

The 83-year-old died at the scene of the crash and any witnesses have been asked to contact Police Scotland.

A spokesman said: "The man who died as a result of the collision on the A96 at Colpy, Aberdeenshire, was 83-year-old Ernest Tough.

"The collision happened at 5.25pm on January 20.

"Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet come forward is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101."
