A three-year-old Shetland pony and her newborn foal are looking for a new home.

Missouri gave birth shortly after arriving at the Scottish SPCA's Drumoak rehoming centre in Aberdeenshire.

The charity now hopes to rehome Missouri and her six-week-old foal Jefferson together.

Centre manager Graeme Innes said: "Missouri is a beautiful young girl who loves a bit of attention and being fussed over.

"She had not had any form of handling in the past but that didn't slow her down and she has made fantastic progress. We believe she has the potential to become a nice little ridden pony in the future.

"This petite lady has a great personality and after being shown a bit of kindness will be your best friend in no time.

"Jefferson is also very trusting and friendly and gets great confidence from his mum.

"He is learning more each day and it has been a pleasure to watch him grow up.

"We're quite surprised that that we haven't had any interest in Missouri and Jefferson yet and we're hoping we can find someone with the time, space and resources to offer this sweet pair a loving home.

"It's a big ask for someone to take on two ponies but due to Jefferson's age we need to keep them together and we're sure their perfect home is out there somewhere."
