Hundreds of oil and gas workers will down tools on eight Shell platforms later this month.

About 400 members of the Unite and RMT unions will take part in the first of a series of strikes on July 26.

Wood Group staff are unhappy about plans to further cut pay by up to 30%.

Concerns have also been raised over a recent switch to a three-week offshore work cycle.

The strike is expected to severely disrupt work in the Brent and Central oil and gas fields.
