The bodies of two brothers who went missing during a fishing trip in Orkney have been found, it has been confirmed.

Andrew and Boyd Livingstone were reported missing when they failed to return from the Loch of Boardhouse on August 2, sparking a major search.

Andrew's body was found in the loch shortly afterwards and on Sunday, police said a second body had been found nearby.

Officers confirmed that it belonged to Boyd Livingstone on Monday morning.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "We can confirm that following the recovery of a man's body at Loch of Boardhouse, his identity can be confirmed as Boyd Livingstone.

"We would like to thank all partner agencies and members of the local community who assisted with the search."
