Man charged with breach of the peace after 'climbing statue'
The 34-year-old was taken to hospital after the incident on Union Street in Aberdeen.
A man has been charged after reportedly climbing a statue in Aberdeen city centre.
Union Street was cordoned off at its junction with Bridge Street for around two and a half hours on Sunday evening.
The section surrounding the Edward VII statue reopened at about 10pm and a 34-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A man has been charged in relation to a breach of the peace after police were called to assist with an incident in the Union Street area on Sunday.
"The man is anticipated to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, August 15."
