A man has been charged after police recovered more than £50,000 worth of stolen property in Aberdeen.

Jewellery and a vehicle were taken during two break-ins in Cults and Bieldside last month.

The 40-year-old man who has been charged is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A 40-year-old male from Aberdeen has been charged in connection with two theft by housebreakings in the Cults and Bieldside areas of the city during August 2016.

"He is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

"Property worth in excess of £50,000 was recovered during the police investigation."
