A seriously injured woman has been flown to hospital after a two-car crash in Peterhead.

The collision happened on West Road near the Kirk Street roundabout at 2.30pm on Saturday.

The woman is being treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, while a man who is believed to have been driving the other car suffered minor injuries.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "It was a two-vehicle collision involving a silver Renault Clio and a silver Honda Civic.

"There were two injured parties, one with minor injuries and one with serious injuries."

"The more seriously injured casualty has been flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary."
