Labour MP Angela Eagle has been advised by police to suspend open surgeries and to instead meet constituents by appointment only for her safety, ITV News understands.
It comes after the MP for Wallasey received a warning of a "threatening act".
A brick also thrown through her constituency office window, after she launched a leadership challenge to Jeremy Corbyn.
Ms Eagle has since dropped out of the party leadership contest leaving the Owen Smith to be the sole challenger to Mr Corbyn.
