The funeral of a Scots security guard who was kidnapped while working in Iraq almost five years ago has taken place.
Alan McMenemy, from Glasgow, was snatched by gunmen along with three other guards and an IT expert they were protecting in 2007.
Computer specialist Peter Moore, the only survivor from the group, was released in December 2009. The bodies of the other guards, Jason Swindlehurst, Jason Creswell and Alec MacLachlan, were returned to UK authorities that year.
Mr McMenemy, who stayed in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, with his wife and child, worked for Canadian security firm GardaWorld having previously served as a paratrooper.
Last month the body of Mr McMenemy, who was 34 when he was snatched, was handed over to the British Embassy in Iraq.
On Thursday afternoon family and friends attended the funeral of Mr McMenemy in Bearsden.
