Police have released CCTV images of three men they wish to speak to in connection with an attempted murder in South Lanarkshire last year.

A 63-year-old man was deliberately struck by a car at around 3.45pm at behind a business premises on Kyle Square in Rutherglen on Friday April 22, 2015.

Emergency services attended the scene and transported the man to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was treated for serious leg injuries.

The vehicle used during the incident was a white Skoda Octavia, which was later recovered burnt out on Croftmont Avenue in the south side of Glasgow.

Detectives believe the three men in the CCTV footage will be able to aid their inquiries and have asked anyone who may know them to come forward.

Police Scotland detective inspector David Scott said: "This was a targeted attack which left the victim with life-changing injuries and it is critical that we find whoever is responsible.

"A dedicated team of officers have been working on this inquiry over the last six months however we still need assistance from members of the public.

"If you recognise any of the men in the images I would ask you to get in touch with officers because we need to speak to them as part of our enquiries.
