A man has been arrested in connection with an assault on a paramedic outside a hotel.

Emergency services were called after the man became unwell outside the Millennium Hotel in Glasgow city centre in the early hours of Friday.

The man is alleged to have attacked one of the paramedics who who was trying to help him after they arrived outside the hotel in the city George Square at around 1.30am.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesman said the man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment before being released from hospital and taken into police custody.
