Police have released CCTV images of three men they want to trace in connection with a serious assault in Glasgow.

Police said the victims, three men, left a nightclub in Elmbank Gardens and were crossing Bath Street when they were attacked by three other men.

The attackers were seen leaving in the direction of the Glasgow Hilton Hotel next to the M8 motorway.

Police said the serious assault victims made their way home after the incident on September 6 2015, with one attending at hospital the following day to be treated for leg injuries.

Detective Constable Stephen Palmer from Stewart Street CID said: "This appears to have been an unprovoked attack on a group of men heading home from a night out.

"I would appeal to anyone who recognises the men in the images to contact officers as they may be able to assist with our enquiries."

Officers are appealing for assistance to trace the three men in the CCTV images they released on Sunday.

The first man is described as having brown hair and wearing an off-white t shirt, jeans and trainers.

The second man is described as having dark hair and wearing a white shirt and jeans.
