A large section of signage at a well-known pub in Glasgow has collapsed onto the pavement.

The wooden signage for The Granary on Kilmarnock Road, Shawlands, fell off shortly before 10am on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the scene and building inspectors are assessing the structure.

No one was injured in the incident but the Scottish SPCA were called out as several birds were hurt in the collapse.

Engineers from Scottish Power are also attending the scene to deal with exposed wires.

Kilmarnock Road remains open but the pavement has been sealed off.
