A man and a woman have been arrested after £28,500 of cocaine was found during an early morning drugs raid in Helensburgh.

Police searched a property on Baird Avenue at around 7.30am on Friday as part of an intelligence-led operation.

Cocaine with a street value of £28,500 was recovered along with a four-figure sum of cash.

A 27-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were arrested and charged with alleged drug offences.

Detective inspector Scott Hamilton from Clydebank CID said: "Drug dealing has absolutely no place in the Helensburgh community and I hope that today's significant recovery of cocaine sends a clear message that we will not tolerate this type of behaviour.

"Information from the local community is absolutely vital to helping us target those involved in the supply of controlled drugs and I would continue to ask anyone with information to contact police via 101."
