Police have released CCTV images of three men they believe could help them in their investigation into a serious assault last September.

The incident took place in Glasgow city centre on Sunday September 6, 2015.

At around 3am, three men left a nightclub in Elmbank Gardens and were crossing Bath Street when they were approached and assaulted by three other men.

The attackers then headed in the direction of the Glasgow Hilton Hotel next to the M8 motorway.

The three men who were assaulted went home, with one going to hospital the next day to be treated for injuries to his leg.

Police Scotland are appealing for help to trace the three men captured on CCTV, who officer believe could have information vital to the investigation.

The first man is described as having brown hair and was wearing an off-white T-shirt, jeans and trainers.

The second man is described as having dark hair and was wearing a white shirt and jeans.

The third man is described as having dark hair and was wearing a white shirt and black jacket.

Detective constable Stephen Palmer from Stewart Street CID said: "This appears to have been an unprovoked attack on a group of men heading home from a night out.

"I would appeal to anyone who recognises the men in the images to contact officers as they may be able to assist with our enquiries.

"Anyone with information can get in touch with officers via 101 or alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence."
