A teenager has appeared in court charged with murdering a 16-year-old near a school.

He is accused of stabbing Luke Wallace at a lane near Bannerman High School in Baillieston, Glasgow, on June 17.

The boy, who is 16 and cannot be named for legal reasons, did not appear from custody and it was arranged he would appear at court in private on Wednesday at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He made no plea or declaration and was granted bail by sheriff Sean Murphy QC.

The accused is expected to appear at the High Court at a later date. Luke was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary after the incident but died on June 25.
