A Scots teenager has been found safe and well after a public appeal.

Fears for Gavin Callaghan's safety were raised after he failed to board his flight home from Spain.

The 19-year-old, from Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire, had been on a trip to Magaluf with a group of friends.

The teenager's friends reported on social media that his father had flown out to the Spanish resort to collect his son and police confirmed his well-being on Sunday afternoon.

A police statement read: "Gavin has now been traced safe and well. The media and members of the public are thanked for their assistance with this matter.
