Police have renewed their appeal for information in the search for a woman who has been missing for over two months now.

Julia Chikosi, 37, was last seen by her mother at her home address in Mount Vernon, Glasgow, on Sunday May 8.

She then attended an appointment in the Bridgeton area on Wednesday May 11.

Ms Chikosi, described as 'vulnerable' by police, then went on a planned excursion but her family raised the alarm when she failed to return by the end of May.

She is described as black, around 5ft 4in with brown eyes and black collar-length hair. She has a tribal tattoo on her left ankle and another on her left thigh.

Sergeant Alan Docherty from Shettleston Police Office said: "Julia's family and friends are very concerned about her and want to know that she is safe and well.

"It's not unlike Julia to not be in contact for periods of time however it is important that we hear from her as soon as possible.

"I would appeal directly to Julia to get in touch with a friend, family member or police so that we know she is OK.

"I would also ask anyone with information regarding Julia's whereabouts to contact officers at Shettleston Police Office on 101."
