Delays for drivers on A8 road after lorry catches fire
A lorry caught fire following a tyre blow-out in Greenock on Tuesday evening.
A lorry on fire on the A8 in Greenock caused delays for drivers.
The rear wheel of the vehicle caught fire following a blow-out after 7pm on Tuesday.
A fire service spokeswoman said the rear wheel area was "well alight" and two fire engines had been called to the scene, near Ratho Street. It is understood the lorry was carrying whisky.
Lana Fisher, who lives near the scene of the incident, said she heard an explosion and felt the building shake.
Traffic Scotland said the westbound carriageway of the A8 was closed for around an hour before being reopened.
