A young woman has been reported missing after she disappeared while out for a walk at the weekend.

Dorisa Szanto was last seen on Sunday morning when she left her home in the west end of Glasgow to go for a walk, police say.

The 27-year-old, who is from Romania, left her flat in Alfred Terrace at around 5.30am and has not been seen since.

She is described as 5ft 4in tall, slim build, brown hair which is shaved on the right side, brown eyes and has a tanned complexion.

Police have launched a search for Ms Szanto and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Annette McVicar, at Partick Police Office, said: "We now have a confirmed sighting of Dorisa heading west, away from Alfred Terrace at around 5.30am.

"We know she was wearing a black jacket, a light coloured top, denims, white shoes and was wearing sunglasses. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail.

"I'd like to speak to anyone who has seen her since then or anyone who knows of her present whereabouts.

"We would also continue to appeal directly to Dorisa to contact her family, friends or police to let us know that she is safe and well."

Ms Szanto was later seen near St George's Cross Subway Station, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Partick Police Office via 101.
