Four more men and a teenage girl have been arrested over alleged violence and disorder at the Scottish Cup Final in May.

Police said the arrests were made on Thursday, bringing the total number of people arrested in connection with events following the Hibs - Rangers game at Hampden to 55.

Two 35-year-old men were arrested in connection with alleged offences under the Offensive Behaviour at Football (Scotland) Act 2012 and alleged assaults.

Two more men, aged 22 and 17, were arrested in connection with alleged offences under the Football Act and a 15-year-old girl was arrested for alleged offences under the Football Act and an alleged assault.

The four men were all detained in police custody, a spokeswoman said.

A full report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

The police investigation is continuing into the violence and disorder and officers are continuing to appeal to anyone with information that may assist their enquiries to contact the inquiry team on 0141 532 5457.
