A major drugs haul worth more than £1m has been seized during a police raid at a flat.

Officers from Police Scotland's serious and organised crime unit searched a flat under warrant in Tollcross, Glasgow on Friday morning.

They discovered 5kg of what is believed to be cocaine, more than 300g of what is believed to be heroin and 30kg of a mixing agent benzocaine in the flat in Easterhill Place.

Police said the drugs have an estimated street value of around £1.3m.

Detective inspector Jim Biggam said: "This operation demonstrates our determination to rid our streets of drugs and serious and organised crime.

"Through effective intelligence gathering, help and support from the local community we can cause considerable disruption to the supply of drugs.

"This remains a high priority and we will continue to target those involved in this criminal activity."
