A man is seriously injured after a large-scale disturbance at a homeless unit.

Police have arrested two men in connection with the incident in Bonhill, West Dunbartonshire, on Thursday evening.

A 44-year-old man suffered facial injuries in the incident at the Blue Triangle unit at around 6.35pm and is being treated in hospital.

A 21 and 31-year-old man are detained in custody and expected to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 6.35pm on Thursday, police were called to a report of a disturbance in Braehead in the Bonhill area of Alexandria.

"Officers attended and a 44-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment to facial injuries.

"Two men, aged 21 and 31, have been arrested and detained in police custody in connection with an alleged serious assault."
