Detectives probing an armed raid at a Co-operative Food store earlier this year have released CCTV images of two masked men.

The men targeted the shop in Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire, on the night of Monday, January 4.

The raid happened on Argyle Street at around 9.55pm and the pair responsible wore balaclavas and carried knives.

Police have now released CCTV images of two men they are hunting and appealed for anyone with any information to come forward.

The first man is described as wearing a black balaclava, black hooded top, light blue ripped denims and white trainers. He also had a dark rucksack.

The second man is described as wearing a black balaclava, dark hooded top or jacket, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Detective sergeant stuart Grainger, the officer in charge of this investigation, said: "I believe that someone may have seen these men immediately before or after the incident and may have thought nothing of it at the time but any information we receive could be crucial.

"If you think you have information with regards to this incident then please contact Police Scotland on 101.

"Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously."
