A busy road in Glasgow was closed off after a two-vehicle collision saw a car turned on to its side.

The crash took place on the A89 at the Glasgow roundabout on Sunday afternoon.

Several people were checked over by paramedics at the scene, but no one was seriously hurt.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "At around 2.15pm, police and emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A89 Glasgow Road.

"Two cars collided together at the roundabout heading to Bargeddie, resulting in one of the cars overturning.

"No one was injured as a result."

A spokesman for the Scottish ambulance service added: "Several people were checked over at the scene by paramedics but were discharged.

"Nobody was taken to hospital."

It is understood that four people were involved in the crash.

Police closed the road off while the flipped car was recovered.
