A man armed with a weapon in each hand robbed hundreds of pounds from a Subway fast food shop.

The robber threatened a member of staff in the shop in Paisley on Sunday evening with a knife and bat before making off with the cash.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Glasgow Road in the Renfrewshire town and police have launched a hunt for the robber. No one was injured as a result.

The suspect is described as 6ft and of slim build. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket and trousers with trainers.

A statement from Police Scotland said: "Any witnesses, or anyone with information that may assist the police investigation should contact Paisley Police Office through 101.

"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
