Detectives probing a violent attack in Glasgow city centre have released CCTV images of a man they are hunting.

A 49-year-old man was assaulted and suffered serious injuries in the incident on the city's Union Street on September 2, this year.

The victim was targeted at around 4.20pm by a man described as white, in his early twenties, around 5ft 7in tall and of slim build.

At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a dark hooded top, dark jogging bottoms and distinctive blue trainers. He was last seen on Union Street turning right towards Central Station.

A Police Scotland statement said: "Anyone with information is asked to contact CID based at City Centre Police Office on via 101.

"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
