Two men have been arrested after blow up dolls were hung from the stands during a recent Old Firm match.

The men, aged 22 and 27, were detained by police on Thursday in connection with offensive behaviour after the Celtic v Rangers fixture which took place on Saturday, September 10.

This came after another man, aged 27, was arrested last Wednesday in relation to the display by supporters at Celtic Park .

Police Scotland also confirmed on Thursday that another arrest had been made, which is believed to related to alleged offensive singing during the game.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "A further three men have been arrested in connection with alleged offensive behaviour at the recent Celtic v Rangers fixture.

"These arrests follow the announcement of a wide-ranging investigation by Police Scotland into incidents of vandalism and offensive or anti-social behaviour at the match on Saturday September 10, 2016.

"Two men, aged 22 and 27, were arrested this morning, Thursday September 28. Another man, aged 26 was arrested on September 27 and is due to appear at court at a later date."

STV News understands the two men detained in connection with the blow up dolls incident are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.

Detective Inspector David Stewart, who is leading on the investigation, said: "We are continuing to investigate incidents of vandalism, disorder and any other associated criminality which occurred during the game.

"Whilst we have had some contact from the public, we are keen to renew our appeal specifically for mobile phone footage of vandalism within the toilets of the away support section.

"I understand there were a number of images and video shared online of this and I would be keen for people to contact us directly with any information they may have. As I mentioned, we've had some contact with the public since our initial appeal however, we would encourage others to get in touch with footage or information they might have."
