A 13-year-old boy remains in hospital in a serious condition after he was struck by two cars in the west end of Glasgow.

The teenager was struck by an Audi and a Ford Fiesta while crossing Dumbarton Road in Scotstoun on Friday afternoon.

He was earlier described as being in a "critical" condition. On Saturday staff at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital said his condition was "serious."

The incident happened at around 2.40pm between Harland Street and Lennox Avenue.

Police have now appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Sergeant Nicola Taylor from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based as Govan said: "I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident and may be able to assist with our enquiries.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Govan via 101."
